International Day of Peace

The International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The day is celebrated to mark the 30th anniversary of the General Assembly Declaration on the Right of Peoples to Peace.

Established in 1981, the day is dedicated to strengthening the bond of peace within and among the countries around the world. It is also known as the day of non-violence and cease-fire.

This year Caleb Greenwood recognized Peace Day with a shoe drive for families living in transition and also by creating a Contemplative Path of Peace to wish the shoes best wishes on the next leg of their journey. The event was also a way to focus on the IB learner profile attribute of being Open Minded. By being open minded we can begin to make the world a better, more peaceful place.

Thank you all for your donations and best wishes!

And big thank you (as always) to Persia Nelson for the fabulous photos. You always capture the heart of our school. ♥
