Weekly Message from Interim Principal Dr. Walls
Week of October 4th - 8th, 2021

Hello Caleb Cougars!

Learner Profile & Action Focus

In October, our new learner profile attribute focus is Thinker, and our Action focus is Lifestyle Choices. Being a Thinker allows you to use critical and creative thinking skills to analyze and take responsible action on complex problems. Thinkers weigh facts and opinions when gaining new knowledge and make reasoned, ethical decisions. This discriminate thought and reflection may result in Action in the form of a Lifestyle Choice. Check out this week’s IB PYP News! to read how you can support the PYP at home by encouraging thinking skills in your children.

Jog-A-Thon

Our annual Jog-a-thon is fast approaching on Friday October 15. By now you should have received an email from 99 pledges with your child’s personal fundraising link. Click here for the general link that can also be used for general donations to the school or to search for your child by name. Please share far and wide with friends and family and/or via social media and help us make this year’s Jogathon a success. Our school wide fundraising goal is $35,000 and all students will earn a week of no homework. We can do this! There will also be prizes for top earners and top classes (primary and intermediate). This year we will also have a raffle and all students will have the opportunity to earn prizes just by participating in the Jogathon. All students and teachers will receive a Jogathon t-shirt thanks to our corporate sponsors. To purchase additional spirit wear, we have t-shirts and sweatshirts available for sale through custom ink. This is our only planned spiritwear sale so please buy if you want a t-shirt or a sweatshirt! Click here to purchase.  Thank you in advance for your support.

Thank You, Staff & Volunteers!

Thanks to all of the parents who volunteered to support our classrooms as a room parent. In the coming weeks, PTSO representatives will reach out with tips and support for room parents. It is an important role and we are grateful for your work.

Cougars on the Run will be held on Friday October 8. Thanks to Skye Ferrerra, Pam Johns, and Kim Matchell for providing doughnuts and coffee to spectators. We appreciate your patience as our athletes familiarize themselves with the system for scanning. Without volunteers on campus we are doing our best. Many thanks to the teachers and staff who are supporting this effort.
