Weekly Message from Interim Principal Dr. Walls
Week of October 11th - 15th, 2021
Hello Caleb Cougars!
Learner Profile & Action Focus
This month’s learner profile attribute is Thinker and our Action focus is Lifestyle Choices. Over the next couple weeks students will practice being Thinkers while visiting the now-open Action Center Library and taking Action with Lifestyle Choices by caring for and valuing the books they check out. Some grade-levels will be bringing home and borrowing a book from the library. Please help your child be a Thinker by discussing how to care for the book at home and a way to help them remember when to bring the book back. Please check out this week’s IB PYP News for Action Center Library pictures as well as more ways to help your child be a Thinker at home and at school!
Jog-a-Thon is coming up on October 15. Please have your children wear running shoes and bring a water bottle on October 15.
We are almost halfway to our fundraising goal. We need to raise more money to fund music, spanish, enrichment programs, PE supplies, instructional materials, and more. No donation is too small!!! Five dollar gifts add up to big wins for our students. Please reach out to your family, your friends, your neighbors to help us raise money for our kids!
Click here for the general link that can also be used for general donations to the school or to search for your child by name. Please share far and wide with friends and family and/or via social media and help us make this year’s Jogathon a success. Our school wide fundraising goal is $35,000 and all students will earn a week of no homework. We can do this! There will also be prizes for top earners and top classes (primary and intermediate). This year we will also have a raffle and all students will have the opportunity to earn prizes just by participating in the Jogathon
All students and teachers will receive a Jogathon t-shirt thanks to our corporate sponsors. To purchase additional spirit wear, we have t-shirts and sweatshirts available for sale through custom ink. Click here to purchase.
Curtis Cogdill, Sarah Rodriguez, and Carla Gaub have led up these efforts and are doing a fantastic job. We are extremely grateful to them. Additionally, this event would simply not be possible without support from our incredible sponsors:
