Four-Day In-Person Learning Update
May 27, 2021

Post

Good Evening, Caleb Families,

As many of you have heard, our Board of Education voted this week to further expand in-person learning opportunities by combining cohorts using the CDC’s current physical distancing guidelines of at least three feet between students.

Based on this decision, ALL in-person classes at Caleb will be combined beginning on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Meaning all students in all grades who are currently attending in-person instruction are invited to begin attending in-person four days per week. You will not be receiving individual invitations for four-day instruction as this applies to ALL in-person students, effective Wednesday, June 2.The in-person school day will continue to run from 8am-11am daily, with the gates opening at 7:45am for arrival. Click here for updated schedules.

All in-person students will be automatically placed in four-day in-person learning. Should you wish to keep your child in two-day in-person learning, please let your teacher or me know and we will be happy to accommodate that request. Students who are currently receiving instruction via full distance learning, may remain in full distance learning or elect to return to in-person instruction. If you’d like to move your child to in-person learning from full distance learning, please email your teacher or me for instructions.

Whether attending in a two or four-day model, students and staff must continue to practice health and safety guidelines as outlined in our district’s Return to Health plan with updated physical distancing guidance allowing three feet of distance between students in classrooms. It remains important for all staff and students to screen for symptoms, take advantage of on-site testing at each school, and to adhere to all health safety protocols.

I know the transitions of the last several weeks have elicited a range of emotions among our children, parents, teachers and staff, and I acknowledge that some of you were disappointed in our process to determine eligibility for expanding in-person learning to some students based on need. I want to thank you for your patience, flexibility and understanding as we have worked to bring our students back as equitably, safely and quickly as possible within the constraints of our system and contracts. The Caleb staff and I are excited to spend the last weeks of school with your kids in full classrooms and are committed to making this further expansion of in-person learning a positive, welcoming and fun experience for all, regardless of the learning option you select.

I’ll be in touch with more details as they become available.

Have a good evening,

-Mrs. Hanson
