El día de los niños/El día de los libros:

We need volunteer support. El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children’s Day/Book Day), commonly known as Día, is a celebration every day of children, families, and reading that culminates yearly on April 30. The celebration emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. We are seeking two or three volunteers, ideally organized volunteers who can plan online, outside of work hours. They will work closely with PTSO President Mairead Reinhard and IB Coordinator Kelly Cordero on these efforts in the coming months.

Yearbook:

Every summer, Caleb kids pore over their yearbooks, reminiscing about the year. The incredible Ana Tintocalis Salcedo has volunteered to coordinate Caleb’s yearbook again. Please pre-order when the opportunity is available!  Yearbook preorders will start at $20 dollars this year as part of a Fall Season Special.  The price goes up to $30 in the new year. All yearbook sales will be online via Jostens, the company that produces the yearbook.  Parents will still be able to place tribute ads and request personalization.

Volunteer Packet Update:

As you see in Dr. Walls messaging, emergency volunteers may support work in the Action Center and at yard duty (when staffing is short). Volunteers must have paperwork signed by the principal, fingerprint and background check, current TB, and proof of COVID vaccination. All paperwork needs to be returned to Jenci at jenci-smith@scusd.edu. Links are below.
