Good evening, Caleb families and Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a restful, safe and warm winter break. Now it’s time to get back in the swing of things! Please take a few minutes tonight to make sure your learning spaces are ready for school tomorrow… remove distractions, charge those devices, check your learning plans on Google Classroom and get your materials ready. Then prepare yourselves for our first day back at distance learning by going to bed early and setting an alarm to get up in time to have a healthy breakfast and get yourself ready for Zoom by 8am sharp.

Our Winter Concert can’t happen in person this year, but we can still celebrate the season together virtually. Each grade level has been assigned a song and students are invited to record a video of themselves singing it. Mrs. Fitzpatrick will put all your voices together for an online concert in February. You can find song information and directions on Mrs. Fitzpatrick’s Google Classroom and directions here

Save the date for our virtual MOVE-A-THON the last week of January.  All Caleb Cougars will be challenged to move for at least 15 minutes a day and collect pledges to support the Caleb Greenwood PTSO.  Before distance learning, the Jog-A-Thon was one of our biggest school fundraisers. It helped the Caleb PTSO support the IB program and essential enrichments including music, arts, Spanish curriculum and the library. This year, the virtual Move-A-Thon will offer our Caleb Community a chance to take a break from screens, move our bodies and earn exciting prizes from a distance, all while raising pledges to support the programs that make Caleb so special. Watch out for additional details in the coming weeks.

Please be sure to check out this week’s Cougar Video Message! See you on Zoom tomorrow!
