Good Evening, Caleb Families!

I hope you’re all enjoying this beautiful spring weather. Seeing so many of you on campus last week was amazing! I can’t wait to welcome back the rest of our 4th-6th grade students in Cohort A this Tuesday. I’ve been so impressed and grateful for how well everyone – kids and adults – have followed our schedules and health and safety guidelines. You all are doing an excellent job, which makes our jobs easier, so thank you! Just a reminder that wearing a mask is mandatory for everyone, even with social distancing and even if you’ve been vaccinated. This is both a health and safety requirement and a considerate gesture for those around you.

Be sure to continue to check the Weekly Learning Plans you receive from your teachers for schedule updates and to make sure your child is prepared for school each day with the correct materials and such, whether learning in-person or at home. For information about returning to school, please visit our website www.calebgreenwood.scusd.edu and click on the Reopening Information tab.

Please note that parents MUST accompany children for drop off on their FIRST day of in-person learning; AFTER that, if your child is able to answer the passive screening questions and independently navigate social distancing and active screening they may arrive unaccompanied.

Nutrition services is providing free breakfast and lunch to all students, which means that in-person students can leave each day with a bag containing both lunch for that day and breakfast for the following morning. We’re also doing curbside pick-up for additional meals, the information for which can be found on the Central Kitchen website. If your child is doing full distance learning, you can come by tomorrow, 11am-1pm, to pick up lunches for the entire week.

Thank you to the entire school community for sending in their pics for the yearbook. The yearbook is done and has been sent to the printer! Get your copy now! Cost for books this year is $25! It’s a one-of-a-kind yearbook for a one-of-a-kind year with Zoom class pics, candid snapshots of students and staff, academic and student life, and colorful graphics!

Yearbooks must be purchased online through Jostens, the company that publishes the books. All yearbook revenue goes toward the actual production of the book and Caleb’s PTSO. To purchase, go to the Caleb Josten’s Yearbook page.  If you have any questions, please contact Yearbook Editor Ana Tintocalis-Salcedo at Ana Tintocalis analeetintocalis@gmail.com.

Be sure to check out this week’s IB PYP News in which Mrs. Cordero shares the results of our crane project and my weekly video which will be available tomorrow morning.

We’ve got this, Cougars! Set your alarms, get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, come to school and Zoom prepared and on time, and remember to WEAR A MASK! We can’t wait to see you this week!
