Weekly Cougar Update

Post

Good Evening, Caleb Families, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas, grandmas, stepmoms, aunts, sisters and mom-like figures who care for our kiddos out there. The world is a better place because of you!

Last week we shared a little teaser about our spring Caleb Action Center Fundraiser, and this week we’re going live! By donating to the Caleb Action Center, you are making a difference for our current and future students and all those who benefit from our efforts to commit to social justice and action and provide an inclusive, rigorous and transformative IB program. Your donations will help us build our Caleb Action Center – a place where kids and adults will learn, think, inquire, reflect, play, build, create and take action to create a better and more peaceful world. With your help, you can expect the CAC to be a positive, affirming, culturally responsive place where we serve and empower every member of our school community. Visit our fundraising page at https://calebgreenwoodfundraiser.org/ to explore our CAC Vision Boards and find ways to contribute, such as sponsoring IB Learner Profile and culturally responsive book collections, updated technology, flexible furniture, outside learning space equipment and more! Please also share the link with friends and family near and far so they can make a difference too. Let’s do this, Cougars!

Our district is celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month in an effort to raise awareness about mental health and to destigmatize mental illness.  Whether you are a student, parent/guardian or staff member, please know that you are not alone. If you or someone you know is suffering, please reach out for help. Our school community and district are here to offer hope and support. Please visit the SCUSD May is Mental Health Month webpage to learn about resources and upcoming activities.

On behalf of the Caleb Staff, I want to say thank you for all the gifts, treats, kind words and affirmations last week during Staff Appreciation Week. We are all so very grateful to work with such a generous and caring community of children and families.

Please remember you can stop by campus tomorrow, 11am-1pm, to pick up breakfasts and lunches for distance learning days. We’ve got this, Cougars! Set your alarms, get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, come to school and Zoom prepared and on time, and remember to WEAR A CLEAN MASK to school each day. We can’t wait to see you this week!

We’ve got this, Cougars! Let’s have a great week together!
