Good Evening, Caleb Families,

I hope you are enjoying your three-day weekend. Tomorrow is a holiday, so there’s no school.

As I shared last week, we are expanding in-person learning opportunities by combining cohorts using the CDC’s current physical distancing guidelines of at least three feet between students, so ALL in-person classes at Caleb will be combined beginning on Wednesday, June 2. All in-person students have been automatically placed in four-day in-person learning. The in-person school day will continue to run from 8am-11am daily, with the gates opening at 7:45am for arrival and dismissal through designated gates at 11am.

Students who are currently receiving instruction via full distance learning, may remain in full distance learning or elect to return to in-person instruction. Teachers will continue to teach concurrently to both in-person students and those at home on Zoom. If you’d like to move your child to in-person learning from full distance learning, please email your teacher or me for instructions.

Whether attending in a two or four-day model, students and staff must continue to practice health and safety guidelines as outlined in our district’s Return to Health plan with updated physical distancing guidance allowing three feet of distance between students in classrooms. It remains important for all staff and students to screen for symptoms, take advantage of on-site testing at each school, and to adhere to all health safety protocols.

We spent the end of last week and this weekend preparing our classrooms and campus to expand from half capacity to full capacity with three-feet distance between students. We are ready and can’t wait for full classrooms. We’ll see our Cohort A students in-person on Tuesday and then ALL in-person students at school on Wednesday, and distance learning students, we’ll see you on Zoom.

Please be sure to follow all district communication and take advantage of upcoming district vaccination clinics for everyone in your household over 12 years of age. The next clinic is this Wednesday at Hiram Johnson High School from 4-7pm. Appointments are recommended, but not required. Click here to register.

Have a good evening and enjoy your holiday tomorrow,

-Mrs. Hanson
