Weekly Cougar Update

Post

Good evening, Caleb families!

Happy Sunday! Tomorrow is a holiday, so here’s your weekly Sunday update, but we won’t see you on Zoom until Tuesday.

Last week, more Move-a-Thon money rolled in, we’ve now raised nearly $30,000! While we didn’t get all the Bingo Cards we were aiming for, we are still going to celebrate this incredible effort with a Dance Party with DJ Char. We’re still working out the details, but stay tuned for more information. We’ll announce top earners and raffle winners at the Dance Party too, so you don’t want to miss it! Thank you to our Move-a-Thon Coordinators for making this such a successful fundraiser in the midst of a pandemic… no small feat!

This week, please take some time to check out our IB Communicator Virtual Library for books all about this month’s attribute, Communicator. You can also check out Ms. Bond’s Virtual Library for books to read in celebration of Black History Month. A little something for everyone out there this week!

The 2020-21 Caleb Greenwood Community Yearbook is now on sale!! Cost is $25 each. This year’s yearbook is more like a scrapbook, with Zoom class pics and snapshots entirely from Caleb families. It’s a one-of-a-kind yearbook for a one-of-a-kind year.

And lastly, please watch this week’s Cougar Video Message and read this week’s IB PYP Newsletter, both of which are available on our website! You’ll see that this week, as we close our How the World Works unit focusing on how technological advances can change how we live our lives, we’re asking you to explore the digital divide, which is the gap in access to information and modern technology between different groups of people, such as young versus old, able-bodied versus disabled, wealthy versus poor, rural versus urban, and white versus people of color. Read the newsletter to find out more and learn how you can take action as a family to bring awareness to this important equity issue.

Enjoy your day off tomorrow. We’ll see you on Tuesday!
